Austin Regan is a New York City based director. He is currently a Resident Director at the Obie and Drama Desk Award-winning Flea Theater in TriBeCa. Recent work includes Spring Awakening at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts/UIUC, #MormonInChief at the Kraine Theater, Damascus Square at the Metropolitan Room and at the United Nations, Hey, You Know What Movie Would Make A Good Musical? at the Julia Miles Theater and the Zipper Factory (with Travis Greisler), The Who’s Tommy at the Boston Conservatory, and Horse Play at Dixon Place. Austin was featured in the New York Times for his work as Tony Award winner Michael Mayer’s artistic associate, including the Broadway productions of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (Associate Director), American Idiot (Assistant Director), and Everyday Rapture (Assistant Director). Other assistant work: Rigoletto (Metropolitan Opera), American Idiot at Berkeley Rep, Violet workshop with Roundabout Theater Company. Austin is a co-founder and teacher at Other Side of the Table. He has also taught musical theater at Trollwood Performing Arts School and on the faculty of the Boston Conservatory.
