George Salazar is a New York City-based actor, singer, and musician (drums and guitar). He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) and is represented by CESD Talent Agency and Sinclair Management.
George is currently performing nightly in the ensemble of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s hit Off-Broadway disco poperetta, HERE LIES LOVE (Public Theater; dir. Alex Timbers). The show returned to the Public Theater’s LuEsther Hall for an open-ended commercial run in the Spring of 2014. In 2011, he made his Broadway debut singing “Light of the World” in the revival of Stephen Schwartz’s GODSPELL (Circle in the Square; dir. Daniel Goldstein). He also toured North America in the 2010-2011 SPRING AWAKENING National Tour (NETworks). Workshops/readings include Joe Iconis & Joe Tracz’s BE MORE CHILL (dir. Scott Ellis), Ryan Scott Oliver & Hunter Foster’s JASPER IN DEADLAND (Prospect Theater; dir. Brandon Ivie), Stiles & Drewe’s THE THREE LITTLE PIGS (NAMT; dir. Victoria Bussert), VENICE (Public Theater; dir. Eric Rosen), HERE LIES LOVE (Public Theater; dir. Alex Timbers), and most recently, Andrew Lippa & Jules Feiffer’s THE MAN IN THE CEILING (dir. Jeffrey Seller).
George’s TV credits include appearances on CBS’ LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, ABC’S THE VIEW, OWN’S THE ROSIE SHOW, the 2012 TONY AWARDS telecast and national commercial spots.
George is an experienced drummer both on kit and on cajon. His father is Ecuadorian and his mother is Filipino. This makes him a Filadorian.
